What Is Tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of human growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH). It contains all 44 amino acids of human GHRH, with a trans-3-hexenoyl group added at the N-terminus. In research it is studied as a GHRH receptor agonist: the class of compounds that signal the pituitary to release growth hormone.
Tesamorelin vs. Sermorelin and Ipamorelin
Tesamorelin and sermorelin both act on the GHRH receptor. Sermorelin is the shorter 29–amino acid fragment of GHRH; tesamorelin is the full 44–amino acid sequence with an N-terminal modification.
